摘要：Ao longo das últimas quatro décadas, constata-se o crescimento das manifestações religiosas nos diferentes segmentos sociais. A busca por respostas perante o inexplicável, como doença, dor, morte, tem levado homens e mulheres ao encontro de experiências que escapam da esfera terrena e penetram o plano do sagrado, promovendo o crescimento dos movimentos pentecostais, cujos fundamentos teológicos e práticas religiosas são marcados por um significativo fundamentalismo religioso. Todavia, ainda há por parte de muitos historiadores uma expressiva resistência em debruçar-se sobre fatos contemporâneos, porque estes não seriam objeto da história, mas sim os fatos ocorridos em períodos distantes no tempo, tendo por fundamento uma visão retrospectiva dos mesmos. A partir desta constatação, surgiu o interesse de entender as manifestações religiosas e suas repercussões nos comportamentos individuais e coletivos, contribuindo para ampliar e aprofundar o campo de investigação da História das Religiões.
其他摘要：Over the past four decades, there is the growth of religious manifestations in different social segments. The search for answers to the inexplicable, such as illness, pain, death, has led men and women encounter experiences that are beyond the sphere of the world and penetrate the plane of the sacred, promoting the growth of Pentecostal movements, whose theological and religious practices are marked by a significant religious fundamentalism. However, there is still by many historians a significant resistance to focus on contemporary events, because they would not be the object of history, but the events that occurred in periods distant in time, be based on a retrospective view of them. With this in mind, which led us to understand religious behavior and its impact on individual and collective behavior, helping to broaden and deepen the research field of History of Religions.
