摘要:The Planting Smiles project emerged as a proposal to unite specific communities of society, together with the University, through the planting of native trees in degraded areas in order to promote awareness of different causes. Moment III emphasized the importance of the insertion of reeducing prisoners with the environmental cause and is described in the present work. The planting site occurred at the Penitentiary Progression Center III “Prof. Noé Azevedo” (CPP III), in Bauru/SP. The target audience involved the re-educators present at the unit, as well as professors and students from the Universidade do Sagrado Coração (USC). The activity was carried out on the day of the tree, where the members of the Group of Applied Plant Ecology (GEVA), together with the prisoners, planted 1000 tree seedlings of several native species. The objectives of this action were: (i) to recover an area of riparian forest from the farm where the CPP III is inserted; (ii) to integrate the prison community into a reforestation project; and (iii) to promote, directly with the academic community, the social inclusion of the prisoners and a new proactive vision in social and environmental actions. This story of experience becomes useful and valid not only locally, but also serves as a stimulus for new gender actions with different groups to be multiplied at the national level.
