摘要：The aim of this study was to evaluate the soccer personal meaning. For those, 194 soccer players from five teams, from the sub 13 to professional, were evaluated through an open question: “write down the soccer personal meaning”. The meanings were categorized and interpreted, following common and different aspects for those. Five categories arise: satisfaction, lifestyle, competence, relationship, and enjoyment. For the professional soccer mean satisfaction and a lifestyle. For the sub 13, a competence, and for the sub 15, an enjoyment and a relationship. For the sub 17 and sub 20 there was a decreased in all categories. We can conclude that at the beginning soccer players consider they were competent and soccer means enjoyment. As they grow on the career, soccer becomes a passion, but also a lifestyle as we can see at the professional category.
