摘要:Developmental Coordination Disorder is characterized by problems in motor development. The diagnostic is made only if significant harm is observed in daily and academic activities. It is related to the fact that this motor disorder isn’t a medical origin like cerebral palsy, hemiplegia, muscular dystrophy, or someone other pervasive developmental difficult. The prevalence is estimated in 15% of all school-aged children. It is a complex phenomenon with few studies in Brazil. The purpose of this review is show the main topics concerning about DCD. Thus, the sequency beginning with phenomenon conceituation, it´s etiology, co-ocurrency, subgroups, and developmental questions. Discussion is necessary, once they are important for progress the know and understand about assumptions. The suggestion is that professionals who deal with children development, like psychologic, pediatric, occupational therapist, classroom and physical education teachers must have access to the information available about this phenomenon.
