其他摘要:As the number of International students in Japan is on the rise, the necessity for psychological research dealing with their cross-cultural adjustment has become increasingly warranted. This paper discusses the cross-cultural adjustment process of international students, and their interpersonal relationship formation from the perspective of social support networks. A review of some basic researches regarding their social support networks and the mechanism by which they enhance their adjustment are conducted. Finally, the feasibility of psychological intervention for facilitating adjustment is discussed, in the context of personal contact and relationship formation. In particular, the focus is given to the intervention strategy such as cross-cultural social skill learning, which is based on theoretical tenets of clinical, community, and educational psychology.
