其他摘要:This study was designed to compare the Vo_2max obtained from exhausting work between six through ten minutes duration (Test 2) and that obtained during work in excess of ten minutes (Test 1). The subjects were normal, healthy males, aged 23 through 30 years, mean 27.1 ± 0.76 with a mean weight and height of 76.1 ± 1.79kg and 182.2 ± 2.04cm. A slight, statistically insignificant increase of Vo_2 max for Test 2 was found compared to Test 1 (5%) even though work time for Test 2 was a shorter duration. The shorter of the two tests (Test 2) had slightly higher V_E max with a lower HR max than the longer test (Test 1). These findings indicated that pulmonary capacity can be more rapidly stimulated to maximal levels than can the circulatory systems, suggesting a lag in full adaptation of the circulatory system which may require more than seven minutes to be attained. It was suggested that in tests using little or no warm-up that the duration of work should be greater than seven minutes.
