摘要:Physical Fitness Tests of-members of Aikido Club at Waseda Univ. were employed to compare the results of these tests with the students of University who do not participate in any sports acitivteis and the members of Rowing Club of various Universities. The subjects were all same age level. The initial measurements were taken in May 1961 and the final in May 1962. 1. There were not statistically significant differenc es in the physical fitness among the beginners of Aikido members, the students who do not partecipate in any sports activities, and the beginners of Rowing Club each same age level. 2. From the findings of this study, especialy on the training effects; 1) The following items had no significant gains : weight, height, and the chest circumferences, thighs calves, biceps and forearms. 2) The following items had significant gains; back strength, leg strength, upper arm flexor strength, Side-Steps, range of movement at the wrists. 3. The training effects of Aikido were less than that of Rowing. This seems to be caused by the shortage of training dosis in Aikido
