其他摘要：Recent advances in digital technology are expected to increase the distribution of multimedia digital contents in packaged and electronic media. At the same time, these advances have raised the issue of copyright protection to prevent illegal copying of digital contents. This paper describes the system requirements and applicability to different types of digital contents of a copyright protection system using a digital watermark to prevent illegal copying and manage copy generation. As an example, we describe the effectiveness of this copyright protection system with MPEG-2 video on DVD, a typical packaged media. The paper also discusses the application of this copyright protection system to the distribution of digital contents on a network.
