摘要：The main objective of this study is to verify the geopolitical interest of Brazil in relation to Antarctica. In order to do so, it was necessary to analyze why certain countries maintain bases in the continent and to investigate what is behind those bases, which go beyond the scientific, so that the Brazilian case is analyzed in the sequence. It has been found that Antarctica is a strategically important territory for any State, not only targeting the scientific, but also in matters related to geo-strategic issues. In the case of Brazil, the country's presence on the continent is due to the search for geopolitical leadership among the Latin American countries, especially the Southern Cone States.
