摘要:In this work a numerical solution is developed for the incompressible laminar flow of non-Newtonian power-law type fluids through a 2D channel with a sudden asymmetric expansion. A finite volume approach, with the SIMPLE method, is implemented and tested for power-law fluids, and compared against the Newtonian behavior. Velocity profiles are presented for a range of Reynolds numbers, power-law exponents, and geometric expansion ratios. The results for recirculation, reattachment and pressure distributions on the walls are also presented.
