摘要:Objective: It is characterized as a study focused on the development of a technological service for university libraries based on the precepts of the library of the future. It seeks to contribute to the best use of the intellectual capital existing among the members of the academic community, avoiding the waste of the public resource in the hiring of external specialists and improving the efficiency of the institution with the approach of interest groups, thus enabling the development of collaborative works. It aims to report the experience of the development of a technological prototype called Specialist Locator, conceived as a possible service to be offered by the university libraries to its academic Community. Methods: Explanatory and descriptive as to its objectives, the present applied research used the case study as a technical procedure, as it sought to analyze thoroughly and exhaustively the available technologies to propose a new service and development of the technological prototype. Results: The functional requirements necessary for the operation of the system were defined, the technological tool developed using pre-existing open-source software was presented, and finally the proposal for the operationalization of the service. Conclusions : It is concluded that the Expert Locator is a viable service for implementation in university libraries, since it is inexpensive and fast to execute, extrapolating traditional library services and contributing to the collective and collaborative construction of knowledge.
