摘要:Concepts play a key role in teaching learning process at all levels for all disciplines. This experimental study aim at finding out the effectiveness of using concept mapping strategy in the attainment of the concepts of geography for IX class Urdu medium students in Hyderabad. Post test only equivalent group design was adopted with a sample of sixty IX class students. Objectives of the study were: (1) To find out if there is any difference in the post test performance of control group and experimental group of IX class Urdu medium students of Hyderabad. (2) To find out the effect of concept mapping strategy with respect to Boys and Girls of IX class Urdu medium students of Hyderabad. Simple random sampling technique was used and the obtained results show that the (i) experimental group performed better than the control group. This shows that concept mapping strategy enhances performance and retention of knowledge in geography (ii) there is no significant difference in the effect of concept mapping strategy with respect to Boys and Girls. Lastly I conclude that this study certainly helps the teachers to adopt appropriate methods of teaching learning process.
