摘要：Os indicadores são importantes ferramentas e fontes de informações para a investigação científica. Por isso, o presente artigo procura analisar a base de dados do Banco Mundial, denominado World Databank, do World Development Indicators, especificamente quanto ao indicador que mede a percentagem de investimentos em investigação e desenvolvimento (I&D) em relação ao Produto Interno Bruto (PIB). Enquanto resultados do estudo, procura-se instigar os investigadores a refletirem sobre a fidedignidade das informações das diversas bases de dados, bem como sobre a importância dessa fonte de conhecimento.

Therefore, this article seeks to analyze the World Bank database, called World
Databank, of the World Development Indicators, specifically on the indicator that
measures the percentage of investments in research and development (R&D) in
relation to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). As a result of the study, the aim is to
instigate researchers to reflect on the reliability of the information in the various
databases as well as on the importance of this source of knowledge.
