摘要：The classification of the definitions of information competence on key criteria is made. The essence of the key features of information competence is analyzed. The definition of the concept of «information competence» based on the integration of key competencies is refined. The main features of professional activiities of translators in the aspect of using and processing of information are explained. The author's definition of «information competence of a translator» is proposed, taking into account the specifics of the professional activity of future translators
