摘要:A key issue in the design of cold‐formed steel members is their local buckling strength under axial compression. In this study, we focused on the local buckling strength of rectangular section and lipped C‐section members, the adjacent plate elements of which have a different width‐thickness ratio, and we investigated their elastic and inelastic local buckling strengths through a numerical analysis. On comparing the numerical analysis results with those obtained using a conventional design method, we found that the plate restraining effect between the adjacent plate elements affected both the elastic buckling strength and maximum strength of the cold‐formed steel members.
