摘要:The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of smoking on running performance, recovery process and oxygen saturation. A total of 12 cigarette smoking male students aged between 22-24 years studying at the School of Physical Education and Sports of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University participated voluntarily. In the measurements, participants were asked to not smoke for 24 hours in the post-test, while 9 participants were included in the study. Participants' running performance HK-2008 Electronic Treadmill model treadmill, pulse measurements M400 Gps Runing Watch polar watch, oxygen saturation measurement was taken with Galena finger type pulse oximeter. IBM SPSS 24 package program was used to determine the difference between measurement times in pulse, saturation and running distance. The t-test for dependent groups was used for the data with normal distribution, and the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test was used for the data without normal distribution. As a result; 24 - hour non - smoking status was found to have a significant effect on pulse rate and running performance, but not on oxygen saturation and recovery time.
