摘要:Flexible optical networks are undoubtedly the promising solution to the exponential growth of Internet traffic. They combine flexibility with the finest granularity of optical resources. These optical networks are positioned as a better solution than conventional Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) networks. However, the multiplicity of resources and the possibility of having multiple levels of modulation with the use of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology make it difficult to allocate resources to future demands. The current work aims at the judicious use of a tabu search meta-heuristic to avoid the waste of optical resources by minimizing the number of frequency slots required on each optical link. The main result is to ensure that all allocated connections are grouped under the index , which is the optimal value obtained by the algorithm designed.
