摘要:Objective: to report the extension experience experienced by the "Ionizing radiation extension project and its applications". Method: in addition to the bibliographical research, a questionnaire was used as an instrument to elaborate this experience report. The action involved: lectures for the community that were held in June 2018 by students of the Higher Radiology Course of the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina Florianópolis Campus and application of a questionnaire to analyze the target audience learning and reflection of the action. Results: the extension action was successful, where it was observed that the great majority of the target audience answered from 39% to 43% of the questions related to the evaluation of the knowledge about the ionizing radiation. Conclusion: the present project of university extension is a permanent bridge between the institution of higher education and the society and presents great interdisciplinary, educational, cultural, scientific and political relevance in the graduation in Radiology..
