  • 摘要:The aim of this article is to reflect on the nature of scholarly activity within Higher Education, and to consider how consultancy work has been embedded within teaching and learning programmes. The article draws on experiences from staff at University College Chichester, who are involved in supporting the tourism industry at a regional and national level. The article reflects on the nature of the consultancy work undertaken, and how this work has been embedded within the Geography and Tourism Management degree programmes. The article highlights the value of scholarly activity in terms of enhancing the quality and legitimacy of the Higher Education experience, while also serving to raise industry awareness of Higher Education in terms of the structure and content of modules, and the character and capabilities of the students we are producing.
