In this extensive volume, he has presented a competent and comprehensive synthesis of the current knowledge on Trogir’s monuments and urbanism, as well as his own interpretation of the town in space and time. In three systematically divided chapters, he has covered all of Trogir’s significant works of art, from painting, sculpture and goldsmithing artifacts preserved in various museums and treasuries of the city, to works of sacred and profane architecture and urbanism. A special contribution of the author is his expert urban-cultural-historical study of the temporal and spatial framework of Trogir and its surroundings, presented in the introductory chapter. Trogir: The Town and Its Monuments will be a lasting and valuable guide for all researchers of Trogir’s heritage and it will surely also find its readership among the broadest audience, the lovers of Trogir’s heritage.
