摘要:Achieving precision frequency estimation plays animportant role in radar signal processing, especially on theaspects of target recognition, tracking and location. ApplyingFast Fourier Transformation to analyze the spectrum isconvenient whereas fence effect and spectrum leakage cannot beeasily denied and the error is too much to satisfy practicalengineering requirement. Zoom FFT algorithm, a complexmodulation algorithm, provides advantages in spectrum analysisand frequency estimation while the magnification time is limited.A method utilizing Newton Interpolation is proposed to improvethe precision of frequency estimation, which the requirement ofmagnification time is unessential. The corresponding frequencycorrection equations are derived and two scenarios areillustrated to depict the performance of the proposed method.The simulation results verified that the method had an awesomeeffect on frequency estimation and the error of frequencymeasurement decreased an average by 30% compared to ZoomFFT algorithm. The real ranging system also indicated that theproposed method could improve ranging precision.
