摘要:In this paper two different water flood scenariosat Volga-Kama river in Russia are presented. First scenario isbased on the existing water management approach that hasbeen implemented in the period from 23 August 2013 until 22August 2014. The second scenario is based on the originalmanagement approach aimed at mitigation of flood impact tothe populated areas. The flood propagation has been modelledin HEC-RAS software, while post-processing and impactanalysis were performed in QGIS 3.0. The results show thatproposed original management approach allows to decreasethe impact caused by inundation at Volga-Kama river basin bytwo times compared to the one implemented by the operatormanagement approach. This result is achieved due tomitigation of the flood in highly populated areas and allowingadditional water discharge among water management facilitiesin the areas with low population.
