摘要:This study investigated the availability, frequency of use, learning styles, and the challengesencountered with engagement of digital devices among Nigerian secondary school students, andsolutions were proffered on how the challenges could be remediated. The study is a descriptivestudy that used survey data. The sample consisted of 323 students from public and privatesecondary schools in Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Nigeria. The data collected were analysed usingfrequency counts, percentages and means. The study findings indicate that most schools do nothave adequate digital media to facilitate good instruction. However, the available digital media werejudiciously used for instruction. Further, it was found that challenges were encountered by studentsin the use of digital media and solutions were suggested. It was recommended that Nigerianschools endeavour to procure adequate digital media that would facilitate good instruction.Employing appropriate teaching strategies using newer learning digital technologies to identifystudent’s strengths, interests and learning styles would go a long way in engaging students to learnactively and independently. Also, organization of seminars, workshops and training for both studentsand teachers on acquisition of skills would facilitate a better pedagogical experience.
