摘要：Leveraging on the positive youth model, this paper assesses the role of youth entrepreneurship support programme in building capacity in Nigeria under youth employment and support operation (YESSO) in collaboration with the Kogi state agricultural development project (ADP) Onyedega community of Ibaji local government of Kogi state and the youth entrepreneurship support programme under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme (SAED)in Sankwala community in Obanliku L.G.A of Cross River state. The YESSO initiative which is federal government organized scheme in conjunction and collaboration with the World Bank has achieved a lot in capacity building among the youth since its inception in September, 2013. The program has also undertaken many other projects and programs in cassava initiative. Though the program has its challenges, it can be judged to be successful because haven trained 700 youths, it has been able to inspire confidence and self-worth of the participants. Although the two praogrammes assessed here are remarkably different in their scope and aims, together they demonstrate that partnerships can drive systems for improving competencies in youth workers and the capacities of youth services.
