摘要:The study of the water quality of the Senegal River in Mauritania, allowed us todetermine through the spatio-temporal variations of a certain number ofphysicochemical characteristics. Indeed, water sampling was carried out during fourcompanions in the year 2012. The results of the physicochemical analysis presented inthis work showed that the pH is close to neutrality and the values found in Calcium,magnesium, total hardness, sodium, potassium, chloride and sulphate levels meet theWHO standards. On the other hand, the recorded turbidity values remain extremelyhigh at certain measurement points. Thus the NdS and MPo stations have ammoniumcontents which exceed the standard defined by the WHO. We can also observe in thisstudy that the waters of the Senegal River are very influenced, in terms of theirchemical composition, by the geological nature of the soil. Consequently, the use ofwater without prior treatment could constitute a significant health risk.
