摘要:Adsorption of (2Z)-(4-chlorobenzylidene)-2H-[1,4]-benzothiazin-3(4H)-one (G3) on mild steel surface in 1.0 M HCl solution and its corrosion inhibition properties have been studied by the following techniques: potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), weight loss measurements and quantum chemical calculations. Potentiodynamic polarization measurements showed that 1,4-benzothiazine derivative acts as a cathodic type inhibitor. The degree of surface coverage was determined using weight loss measurements. It was found that adsorption process of the studied inhibitor on mild steel surface obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Quantum chemical calculations well support the experimental results.
