摘要:The inhibition performance of clove oil (CLO) on mild steel (MS) in 2 MH3PO4 was studied by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization andelectrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The adsorption of inhibitoron MS surface obeyed the Langmuir’s adsorption isotherm. Potentiodynamicpolarization measurements showed that CLO is mixed type.The optimumconcentrationof 1g/L can decrease the corrosion of material with theefficiency of 87%. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) observationsconfirmed the existence of a protective film of inhibitor on MS surface. Theadsorption behavior of the inhibitor on Fe surface has been studied usingmolecular dynamics (MD) method and density functional theory. The resultsindicated that the inhibitor could adsorb on the Fe surface firmly through thebenzene ring and two oxygen atoms.
