  • 摘要:Pancreatic carcinoma is one of the most aggressive neoplasia with a poor long-term survival; less than 4% at 5-year with an increasing incidence in the last decade. Surgery remains the only curative option for treatment but unfortunately the survival rate remains low. Identifying the socioeconomic factors implicated in prognosis of pancreatic cancer is the aim this study. In this thesis we studied the patients diagnosticated with pancreatic cancer in one surgical unit. A total of 346 pancreatic cancer cases were identifi ed between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2017. Mean age 69.63 years, 81% cases were male and in 74.1 % of the pancreatic tumors were cephalic. The incidence of pancreatic cancer increased sharply with age and was 4.1 times more frequent in those aged 70–79 and 4.88 times more common in those aged 80-89, compared to those aged 40- 49. There was no signifi cant diff erence between the incidence or overall survival and socioeconomic status in the group. In conclusion, the complex relationship between pancreatic cancer and diff erent risk factors requires more clinical research in order to developed new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
