  • 摘要:This study proves the influence of media in the study of language in the 6th grade level of Sorsogon City, school year 2018-2019. Descriptive Qualitative-Quantitative method was used in the gathering of data. Random Sampling was used in determining the participants. It consists of 1,496 participants. 1,360 are grade 6 students and 136 are teachers from the City of Sorsogon. The primary instrument for gathering data was a prepared checklist and interview among the teachers. And used frequency count and ranking in interpreting the answer/data. The influence of media was seen/discovered in the learning of the Filipino Language. In phonology, Grade 6 students and teachers learn the articulation of pronunciation. In morphology, Grade 6 students learn how to spell correctly; teachers can accurately use the root word and affixes. In syntax, Grade 6 students can easily comprehend sentences, and teachers can easily deliver the message. In semantics, Grade 6 students can understand meanings and teacher clarifies unfamiliar words. Based on interview with the teacher, the influence of media catches the attention of the Grade 6 students in learning the language. The good effect/ positive effect of media in learning the Filipino language in Grade 6 students is that they learn how to love their own language and speeds up worth reading and writing. The negative effects among Grade 6 students is that it wastes our time in the progress of language. While among teachers, slang words are used. In learning the Mother Tongue among Grade 6 students, they become more active in giving their opinions, while it makes it easier for the teachers to speak. Another negative effect among Grade 6 students is that they get confused in choosing the right words in constructing a sentence, while among teachers, they find it hard to contextualize. The result of this study in the community is having a realization that if we use the media in the right way, it would be a huge help in making a proper and wonderful community. Specially at having an interest in dealing and joining in the success of our community. In education, it helps us understand the influence it has for teaching and learning language. Teaching its negative and positive sides to students will be easier if the teacher is more knowledgeable.
