摘要：RESUMEN En muchas ocasiones, los sistemas productivos obtienen sus ventajas competitivas de la efectiva gestión de sus almacenes e inventarios, donde la toma de decisiones define fundamentalmente la estructura de los costos y nivel de servicio al cliente. Esto conlleva a que el diseño de almacenes se convierta en un problema de alta complejidad, especialmente por: los problemas de tamaño y de dimensionamiento de todas sus áreas. En tal sentido, se diseñó una propuesta de layout, de conjunto con el dimensionamiento de todas sus áreas, para el almacén de productos terminados en un ingenio azucarero de Imbabura, Ecuador. Se emplearon la combinación efectiva de herramientas de pronósticos, tales como: la simulación de eventos discretos y los modelos de gestión de inventarios. Se obtuvo un mejor uso de la capacidad neta, de la utilización del área y de la altura de almacenamiento, para un alto nivel de servicio al cliente y disminuyendo los costos por concepto de manipulación de materiales.
其他摘要：ABSTRACT On many occasions, the productive systems obtain their competitive advantages from the effective management of their warehouses and inventories, where the decision-making fundamentally defines the cost structure and level of customer service. This leads to the design of warehouses becoming a problem of high complexity, especially due to: the problems of size and sizing of all its areas. In this sense, a layout proposal was designed, together with the sizing of all its areas, for the warehouse of finished products in a sugar mill in Imbabura, Ecuador. The effective combination of forecasting tools was used, such as: simulation of discrete events and inventory management models.
