摘要：The article reports on the early results of studies on iron ores and slags
originating from ancient iron production site discovered in the region of
Eisengraberamt in Lower Austria. Additionally, an experimental iron smelting
based on the locally collected iron ores was conducted. Iron ores, archaeological
material (ancient slags) and experimentally produced iron and slags were subject
of mineralogical-petrographic and geochemical examinations. The obtained
results may indicate that the La Tène culture settlement in the valley of the river
Kamp in Lower Austria could be connected with presence of local deposits of
iron ores.
