  • 摘要:One cannot always express his/her opinion about creativity as they are, instead sometimes prefers to reflect them by using metaphors. The purpose of this research was to identify and analyze mental images that students of psychology had about the concept of creativity by using metaphors. The participants of this research were 226 students studying psychology at Medipol University and Istanbul Sehir University. The data of research was derived from responses of students to formulaic sentences "Creativity is like ... because ...". As a result of the research, it was found that 201 students whose responses were treated as valid, produced 127 different metaphors about creativity. These metaphors were categorized under 10 distinct conceptual categories according to their common characteristics. As a conclusion, it was found that students of psychology associated creativity mostly with originality, arts, and infinity/limitlessness.
