摘要:A new range of power variable based on the
power law is introduced to enhance low contrast color
photographic images. This variable, at the same time,
removes noise appeared from truncation Y, Cb, Cr
coefficients in the linear transformation of color spaces
RGB into YCbCr . This new interval allows a gradual
return of details hidden in a low contrast image, which
details are often drowned in black who appeared on
silver images due to a bad photo shooting. The study
compares results obtained with the traditional power
law (PL) and the modified power law (MPL) suggested.
Results obtained show that the MPL is very effective in
terms of progressive and finer revelation of hidden
details present on image to be improved. Also, for a clear
improvement of low contrast images, we don’t need to
normalize the grayscales.
