摘要:This paper proposes a comparative analysis between a three leg split capacitor based DSTATCOM and a three leg single dc link capacitor based DSTATCOM. In both the topologies the DSTATCOM is coupled to the line by means of an interfacing inductor which acts as a filter. The major drawback associated with the split capacitor based DSTATCOM is the voltage unbalancing issue across the split capacitors at the front end of DSTATCOM. To overcome the above mentioned voltage unbalancing issue another topology is introduced named as single dc link capacitor based DSTATCOM. In this topology the split capacitors are converted into a single dc link capacitor, so that the voltage unbalancing issue associated with the split capacitor based DSTATCOM is avoided. Simulation studies for both the topologies are carried out and its results are presented..
