摘要：El objetivo de este artículo es analizar el trabajo realizado por los profesionales de latanatopraxia. Esto es, las formas del tratamiento de los cadáveres para su presentaciónante la familia y sociedad. Desconsiderado por las investigaciones sociológicas enEspaña, analizamos en qué consiste el trabajo de estos profesionales y el papel quedesempeñan en el ámbito familiar y social de las personas fallecidas. Para ello,utilizamos como estrategia metodológica las historias de vida; y para el análisis, laTeoría Fundamentada, aplicándola sobre los actores de la tanatopraxia. En la era de lahipermodernidad, la muerte se ha inscrito como un producto de consumo y los serviciosfúnebres en un servicio más. Se concluye que negamos la muerte y estos profesionalesocultan sus rasgos, aliviando así el sufrimiento de los demás; ayudando a superar losprocesos de duelo. Al trabajar con la muerte, el mayor tabú de Occidente, estosprofesionales carecen de valoración y prestigio social.
其他摘要：The article studies the work of tanatopraxia professionals. The ways, to treating corpsesfor presentation to the family and society. Unconsidered by the sociological researchesin Spain, we analyze the work of these professionals and the role that they play in thefamily and social environment of the deceased people. We used the qualitativemethodological strategy, whose technique of information are the lifes stories, and forthe analysis, the grounded theory. This technique has been applied to the tanatopraxia professionals. In the era of hypermodernity, death has been registered as a consumer product, and funeral services in one more service. We deny death, and these professionals hide the features of death, they thus alleviating the suffering of others; helping to overcome mourning processes. To work whit death, the greatest taboo of the Occidental Society, these professionals lack social value and prestige.
