摘要:According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, counterfeit products cost the United States750,000 jobs per year (www.uschamber.com). In addition, global counterfeiting activity hasnearly doubled since 2008, now accounting for almost half a trillion dollars annually. Aside fromthe fact that counterfeiting is illegal, counterfeit goods hurt legitimate companies, costgovernments tax revenue and put consumers at risk when purchasing products that do not meethealth and safety standards. In this paper, the authors discuss the impacts and issues surroundingthe sale of counterfeit goods and provide a three-step approach to combatting counterfeitproducts.
