摘要:Social media are emerging technology which came into existence out of fun to connect withfriends, but it has evolved to become a powerful tool for teaching and learning globally. However,despite its usefulness and relevance to learning the intention to use social media for learning bypostgraduate gender in South- west Nigeria has not been confirmed. Therefore, the study usedUTAUT model to established the intention to use social media for learning based on theinteractive effect of postgraduate gender in south-west Nigeria. The study was a descriptiveresearch of cross-sectional survey method and purposive sampling was used to sample 2,458postgraduate students across the universities in South-west, Nigeria. Stratified samplingtechnique was used to select postgraduate students along gender and area of study. Thequestionnaire adapted was administered on 2,458 postgraduate students (1530 males and 928females). Mean scores were used to answer research questions and t-test analysis was used totest research hypothesis. The findings of the study were that postgraduate students usedLinkedin, Technorah, Blogger, Flickr, Myspace, Instagram, etc, postgraduate students hadpositive perception towards social media and intention to use for learning. The study concludedthat postgraduate students’ use social media for learning due to positive perception they hadtowards usefulness and ease of use of social media. It was however recommended that the useof social media should be encouraged in facilitating learning irrespective of students’ gender andarea of study.
