摘要：In this paper, there were differences between views on public assessment, personal assessment, personal
connection, sense of connectivity, involvement and awareness of the respondents in relation to
identification with the national basketball team and belonging to a political party on national identity. The
survey was conducted on a sample of 219 respondents on the entire territory of North Macedonia, who
were selected for free-choice interviewing and their free will. The main thing in this research was to
determine the link between the national identity and the belonging of a particular political party to the
respondents, as well as the affiliation to the state basketball team, or to explain how the attachment to the
national basketball team may have an impact or contribute to the strengthening of the national identity,
especially through the political affiliation of the respondents. One of the main tasks in implementing the
main goal of this research is to improve their understanding of the group identity that was tested through
the model of Heere & James 2007. The conclusion is that the research of this type should be the focus of
our political and educational system in order to strengthen the national identity among all citizens of our
country regardless of their political affiliation.
