摘要:This study aimed to explore English language teachers’ suggestions to overcome the challenges they
face in teaching oral skills to basic stage students in Jordan. The participants of the study consisted of
130 EFL teachers in public and private Jordanian schools who were selected randomly during the
academic year 2017/2018.
Datawas collected via a questionnaire and someinterviews with participants of the study. means and
standarddeviations were used to analyze data. The results revealed that teachers (regardless of their
teaching experiences, gender, grade, or school type) have a high degree ofagreement on the
suggestions to overcome their challenges of teaching oral skills.
Based on these results, the authors recommend that the Ministry of Education in Jordan benefit
fromteachers’ suggestionsto improve the teaching of oral skills (i.e. listening and speaking).
