摘要:The 1-ethyl-1H-pyrazolo [3, 4-d] pyrimidine-4(5H)-thione (ETPP) has been evaluated as corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 1M HCl solution by means of potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopic measurements. The obtained results revealed that this compound is a good mixed type inhibitor with cathodic predominance effectiveness. The effect of temperature on the corrosion behavior with the addition of optimal concentration of 10-3M was studied in temperature range of 303-343 K. The value of inhibition efficiency decreases slightly with the increasing of temperature. The adsorption of the inhibitor on the mild steel (MS) surface follows the Langmuir adsorption isotherm, indicating monolayer adsorption. The activation parameters indicate the inhibitor is physically adsorbed. The findings concerning the quantum chemical calculation indicate a high feasibility of molecular adsorption of ETPP.
