  • 摘要:The oil of Cinnamon essential (CiO), analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) andgas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) was made. The analyzed oilsconsist mainly Trans-cinnamaldehyde (46.30%), δ-cadinene (8.16%) and β-Cubebene (5.20%) being the major constituents, on the corrosion of copper inaqueous 0.5 M sulfuric acid studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization. EIS and polarization measurementsshowed that the dissolution process of copper occurs under diffusion control.Potentiodynamic polarization curves indicated that the essential oil extractbehaves as cathodic-type inhibitor. The corrosion rates of copper and theinhibition efficiencies of the extract were calculated. The results obtained showthat the extract solution of the essential oil could serve as an effective inhibitorfor the corrosion of copper in sulphuric acid media.
