摘要:The potential of Sodium Polyacrylate (PANa) hydrogel as a low-cost sorbentwas investigated for removal of silver Ag(I) ions from aqueous solution. Theresults of equilibrium studies showed that equilibrium was reached within 15mn of exposure time with qt=6.5 mg.g-1. Generally the maximum percentremoval of Ag(I) ion was 70%. Kinetic data were best described by the pseudosecondorder model with high correlation coefficient (R2>0.99). Theequilibrium adsorption data were fitted to Langmuir, Freundlich, Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) and Temkin adsorption isotherm models and the modelparameters were evaluated. Adsorption isotherms predict the transition fromspontaneous exothermic reaction surface type chemisorption with retention ofAg(I) ions in monolayers organized on the surface of the adsorbent.
