  • 摘要:A new Heterocyclic organic inhibitor, having a triazole ring, linked with thequinoline ring namely 4-amino-1-((8-hydroxyquinolin-5-yl)methyl)-1,2,3-triazole-5-carbonitrile (AHTC) was prepared and identified by the usual methodsas 1H, 13C NMR and Elemental analysis. The influence of AHTC on the protectionof XC38 steel against corrosion in 1.0 M HCl solution, have been studied usinggravimetric and electrochemical measurement. The obtained results showed thatits inhibition efficiency increases with concentration and reaches 90 % at 10-3 M.In addition, it is found that the AHTC takes its performance at the temperaturerange of 298–328 K and its adsorption was well described by the Langmuirisotherm at 298 K. On the other hand, the establishing of correlation between themolecular structures of quantum chemistry indices was carried out using thedensity functional theory (DFT). Laboratory findings are in concordance withDFT results.
