摘要:The polyphenol extract (PPE) from olive mill wastewaters was prepared and evaluatedas corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 1.0 M HCl solution using weight loss tests,polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements. By fittingthe gravimetric data, some kinetic parameters were estimated. The adsorption of theinhibitor on the mild steel surface obeyed Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Polarizationmeasurements showed that the inhibitor acts as mixed inhibitor for mild steel in theacidic media. The inhibition efficiency was found to increase with a correspondingincrease in the PPE concentration, and the best inhibition of 89% occurred at a PPEconcentration of 4 g/L. The results of the corrosion inhibition using three differentmethods showed narrow differences in the obtained values between the three methods.
