摘要:Plastic arts and other artistic manifestations are traditionally used as method of creative expression in the rehabilitation of people with disabilities. Although, this expression should mean emancipation, autonomy and the right to cultural participation. The objective was to contrast between educational and creative experiences of disable artists in the area of social inclusion for academic, work and cultural spaces. Method: using a qualitative method, semi structured interviews and focal groups were used with amateur artists and staff members from plastic arts and dance institutions and organizations as well as professional artists. Results: The participants believe that being an artist is an important part of their creative and productive grown. It stands out the high creativity of the artists; however, social/family context limits this acknowledgement. The projection and circulation of the work of professional artists is more difficult that other artists. As conclusion, the inclusion of people with disabilities in the artistic media, is reshaped when they are considered as protagonist of cultural life. The artistic practice demands great originality, which motivates people with disabilities to change into active participants whom communicate through a universal language..
