摘要：The main objective of this paper is to provide information on a new digital database, online and free, that displays detailed data on the structure, classes and professors working at the Barcelona School of Fine Arts between 1850 and 1900. This data has been gathered thanks to publically-financed research projects, and it is displayed in order to make it as comprehensive as possible. The aim is to reach the scientific community and the artists but also the general public. This essay explains the origins and functions of new digital resource; however the focus is on methodological issues, so similar initiatives can be developed. The resource wills to contribute to a better understanding of this School, its structure, characters and evolution, in a crucial moment in the building of modern Art Schools in Spain. At the same time, it allows users to extract specific data with which to construct chapters in the history of pedagogy in Spain, and shed some more light into the educational role and artistic production of later generations, in the 20th century..
