摘要：The paper analyzes current issues of managing human capital of a modern university including personnel planning and development, recruitment, talent management, and their impact on the university image and reputation. The paper reports on the research performed at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics regarding development of a system of indicators for faculty ranking. The research results are assessed against increased competition in the higher education sector, the new criteria for evaluation of the effectiveness of Russian universities, and the need to differentiate faculties’ remuneration depending on their teaching and research performance.
