摘要:The general concern regarding the high dropout and low throughput rates at previously disadvantaged universities led to the establishment of academic support programmes. The paper examines the perceptions of undergraduate students regarding the implementation of the supplemental instruction and language and writing consultant programmes at one university in South Africa. The findings reveal that these programmes are very useful and helpful to undergraduate students though there are some shortcomings that need the attention of the administration of the university. In this regards, some recommendations are presented in order to ameliorate the implementation of these cherished programmes.
