摘要:The identification of gifted students means the first action for them to receive the specialized education service (AEE). The Brazilian laws express that all students have rights for the education services, however, there are indications of low number of gifted students enrollments in the school census and lack of teachers formation for the giftedness theme to make possible the specialized service. The aim of the study was to verify if there were the gifted students in the third and fourth grade at the Elementary School I in two public schools. The research was descriptive and protocols were used as Guia de Observação Direta em Sala de Aula, Lista De Verificação de Identificação de Indicadores de Altas Habilidades/Superdotação na área Artística e Corporal Cinestésica, and a questionnaire to characterize the teachers and their knowledge about the giftedness theme. As results the School A with low rate of development in Basic Education (IDEB), five students were indicated and at School B with high IDEB there were nine gifted students. The protocols seemed effective to indicate the gifted students in addition the rates of the schools. Also, a signified number of teachers didn’t know de giftedness theme..
