摘要：L’intervento si propone di contribuire all’indagine sulle caratteristiche e il funzionamento specifico dei mondi fantascientifici, sia sul versante delle strategie di world building, sia su quello delle dinamiche di fruizione dell’opera. Dopo un’introduzione generale alle caratteristiche principali del genere in rapporto al campo più vasto dell’immaginario speculativo, il saggio si concentra in particolare su due modelli di mondi fantascientifici: quello degli universi paralleli e quello delle realtà virtuali. L’ultima parte è occupata da un’analisi più ravvicinata di tre opere che problematizzano lo statuto dei mondi virtuali e la loro relazione con il mondo ‘reale’: il romanzo Ubik (1969) e i film Matrix (1999) e Inception (2010)..
其他摘要：This paper aims at contributing to the ongoing investigation on the specific features and functioning of SF worlds, in what concerns both the strategies of world building and the mechanisms of aesthetic reception. It begins with a general introduction to the main features of SF works in relation to the more general field of speculative fiction. In the second part, two particular models of SF worlds are considered: parallel universes and virtual realities. In the last section, the paper provides a closer reading of three works which focus on the status of virtual worlds and problematize their relationship with the ‘real’ world: the novel Ubik (1969) and the films Matrix (1999) and Inception (2010).
